Itinerary 2 Days from Marrakech to Zagora

Day 1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Zagora

      In the morning we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech. Then we depart to the High Atlas mountains. We go through Tizi N´Tichka port and stop several times so you can take photos of the panoramic views.  On the way we will see many Berber villages. Then we continue to the south and detour to take 6 km of another road that will take us to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, this is the largest Kasbah in Morocco, now a UNESCO matrimonial historical site and still home to some Glaoui family members. We will visit this Kasbah, where films  like the  Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile have been shot. We have lunch near the Kasbah before we continue to Zagora. After 2 hours driving we arrive at our destination “Zagora desert” at about 5pm where the camels are waiting for you *.  The camel ride will take about one hour and will lead you the Berber camp. Here you can see the sunset over the  dunes and you will spend the night in the heart of the desert. When the sky is clear you can see thousands of stars. You will sleep in a traditional Berber tent.

Day 2: Zagora - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast we return, on the camels, back to Zagora. We then hit the road again with our car and drive towards the Draa Valley. On the way we make some stops so you can take pictures and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the valley that runs along the Draa River. This is the longest river in Morocco and flows through the whole country reaching Mauritania to end in the Atlantic Ocean. Then we continue to Ouarzazate. This city is famous for the big Kasbahs, but also has the biggest film studio in the world (Atlas studios). Here you can visit Cinema Museum or studio’s cinema and Kasbah Taouirirt. After this we start our way back to Marrakech where you will arrive in the evening.
